We have hundreds of takeoff and landing sites in Central Florida, which one we use depends on the wind direction and the area where the passengers want to fly.
We usually fly from the treetops to 1000 feet.
At treetop level, we frequently spot deer and other wildlife and also talk to people down below. It’s always interesting to see them look around for the voices from above.
At 1000 feet, we get a great view of the Disney, Epcot, Kissimmee, and the skylines of Orlando as well as the many lakes in the area.
No, there is no rocking sensation as in a boat or airplane. A balloon flight is so calm that it is possible to set a glass of water on a table in a balloon and not spill a drop.
There is a negligible temperature difference from the ground at our altitudes, so dress comfortably for the temperature of the day. Skirts may not be suitable for some of our landing spots. Sneakers, comfortable flat shoes, or hiking boots are the preferred footwear.
Also be sure to bring cameras, camcorders, sun glasses, and a hat if you wish.
The chase crew is in radio and cell phone contact with the pilot at all times and follows the balloon while you are in flight.
Your ballooning adventure will last about three hours, you will get to watch the balloon being set up and inflated. We launch and fly for approximately one hour. Safety is our top priority so sometimes we fly a little longer, and sometimes a little shorter. At the end of the flight we’ll share in the 200 year-old tradition of a complimentary champagne and OJ. The balloon is packed into the chase vehicle, and we return to the starting location.
The owner/operator, Bob Wilamoski, has been ballooning for over 20 years, incident free. All pilots are FAA certified, with a commercial rating for lighter-than-air with airborne heater. Our equipment is thoroughly inspected annually by certified FAA repair stations.
We welcome any questions regarding safety or any other aspect of ballooning.
Bob’s Balloon Charters, LLC, carries the insurance required for public flights and demonstrations.
We will not launch when it’s too windy, or in unstable weather conditions. If the weather does not cooperate, we will reschedule at your convenience based on space availability.
Reservations are required, with credit card guarantee. To allow us time to book replacement passengers, we require 48 hours notice to cancel a booked trip.
